Understanding Myopia
Myopia occurs when the eyeball is too long or the cornea is curved too steeply. As a result, light that typically focuses on the eye instead focuses in front of the eye, causing distant objects like a whiteboard at school to appear blurry.
If left unaddressed, myopia can have a negative effect on your child’s academic performance. We’re here to create personalized myopia treatment plans to help your child succeed.
Our Myopia Control Solutions
Symptoms of myopia can be challenging to manage for your children and can include blurry vision and eye strain. We aim to help manage your child’s myopia and slow its progression through our myopia control solutions.
Low-dose atropine eye drops have been effective in slowing myopia progression by relaxing the eye’s focusing mechanisms. The dosage prescribed is dependent on your child’s vision needs. Atropine drops are usually placed nightly before bedtime and require consistent use for myopia control purposes.
Multifocal contact lenses can help slow eye growth and, as a result, prevent children’s lens prescriptions from worsening.
Specially designed myopia control contact lenses can be prescribed to slow down myopia progression.
Zeiss MyoVision lenses are specially designed for children’s lifestyles and unique visual needs. MyoVision lenses feature a freeform optical design optimized for myopic children. The lenses project the image onto the retina for clear vision and also feature myopic defocus in the periphery for comfort and myopic control.
